Who We Help

How to Get Started from Outside Turkey

  1. 1

    Send us your matter

Reach us through WhatsApp or the contact form. A short written or spoken description of your matter is enough to begin.

  2. 2

    Initial review

We review what you've shared and let you know, in English or French, whether and how we can assist.

  3. 3

    Engagement and next steps

If we proceed, we explain what is needed on your side — including any power of attorney or documents — before any work begins in Turkey.

  4. 4

We act on your behalf in Turkey

Once engaged, we handle the matter in Turkey and keep you updated remotely, without requiring you to travel.

Remote Initial Review

You do not need to be in Turkey to start. Our first review of your matter takes place remotely, by email, video call or WhatsApp. Whether your matter can proceed entirely remotely from that point depends on what it involves — some steps, such as certain court appearances, may require a power of attorney rather than your physical presence.

Power of Attorney and Documents

Many matters in Turkey can be handled on your behalf once you grant a power of attorney to your lawyer. A power of attorney for use in Turkey is typically issued before a notary or, if you are abroad, at a Turkish consulate or embassy. Exact requirements depend on the matter and on your location, so we confirm the precise steps and documents with you directly rather than in general terms.

Communicating in English or French

You can reach Legalwise in English or French, by WhatsApp, email or video call. Where a matter requires review of documents issued outside Turkey, we will let you know if an official Turkish translation is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I hire a lawyer in Turkey from abroad?

Contact us by WhatsApp or the contact form with a short description of your matter. We review it remotely and let you know how we can help before any engagement begins.

Can a Legalwise lawyer manage my case in Turkey while I stay abroad?

In many matters, yes — once you grant a power of attorney, we can act on your behalf in Turkey for most steps. Some procedures may still require your input or, occasionally, your presence.

Does Legalwise have an office in France, the UK, the US or another country?

No. Legalwise is based solely in Ankara, Turkey. We communicate with international clients remotely, in English or French.

Do you handle matters governed by a country other than Turkey?

Our practice concerns Turkish law. If your matter also involves another country's law, we can work alongside — but do not replace — locally qualified counsel in that jurisdiction.

What should I prepare before contacting a lawyer in Turkey?

It helps to have a short written summary of your matter and any relevant documents (such as a deed, court decision or contract). We will tell you what else is needed once we understand your situation.
